THE UNITY BLAZE

The Unity Blaze is the campfire at the heart of our logo. It represents the oldest form of light, heat, cooking, safety, comfort and community.

Since ancient times, people have gathered around fires for protection, nourishment, and warmth, and to share stories, thoughts, hopes, and dreams. Black Folks Camp Too has elevated the Unity Blaze as a symbol of Unity in the Outdoor Community and BEYOND.

It means "You are Invited and Welcomed" — your race, age, religion, gender and abilities are recognized and respected.

Frequently Asked Questions
The training program begins with the foundational Unity Blaze Return on Inclusion course. Then, every quarter following your launch there is a short continuing education module – alternating with focus curriculum for either the leadership team, or your entire staff. These modules cover a variety of topics related to creating a more inclusive outdoor experience. Each module includes video lessons, interactive activities, and quizzes to assess your understanding.
After a contract is signed, it usually takes 1 to 2 months to build and create the foundational Unity Blaze Return on Inclusion Training course for your team. However, this depends largely on your team’s pace.
We will also work with your implementation team at each step of the way from contract through launch. Sharing best practices from other states and working to help remove potential friction points.
The foundational Unity Blaze Return on Inclusion course takes about 45 minutes to complete. Each continuing education module will take between 15-25 minutes depending on the subject. The full program will run for three years. However, you can work at your own pace and complete the courses in multiple sessions if needed.

Our online education team works closely with each state park/DNR partner to customize every course with your branding, images, video b-roll, messaging, and other content so you have a customized program. The primary course structure and flow is the same for each state but will appear highly customized to each local user.
There are two options for the course. 1. We can host the training here in our Unity Blaze Academy and provide someone on your staff with administrative privileges to monitor your team’s progress internally, or

2. We can build a .scorm file for you that you can upload to your internal LMS system. In which case you will monitor your progress and provide updates to us upon completion.
